National Fire Risk Assessors Register (NFRAR)
The Fire Risk Assessment Competency Council (FRACC) has published a set of criteria against which the competency of those undertaking fire risk assessments can be judged.

The government recommends that fire risk assessments should be carried out by suitably competent fire professionals. We are nationally recognised and accredited under the The Institute of Fire Safety Managers.

The Institute of Fire Safety Managers provides the nation fire risk assessment register.

The register operates through a structured competency assessment and ongoing review process. Each fire risk assessor listed has successfully completed a comprehensive evaluation of their knowledge, experience, and practical capability. Once approved, assessors are subject to continuous monitoring, including annual reviews of their Continuing Professional Development (CPD), professional indemnity insurance, and other key documentation. This ensures that every assessor on the register continues to meet the high standards of competence, professionalism, and accountability required by the Institute.

The register is designed to help you find and verify competent fire risk assessors. It provides a centralised, continuously reviewed database of professionals who have successfully completed a rigorous competency assessment and are subject to ongoing monitoring to ensure they maintain high professional standards.

Competency refers to the ability, knowledge, skills, and expertise possessed by individuals in a specific field or profession. In the context of fire risk assessors, competency refers to their proficiency and capability in conducting assessments, identifying hazards, evaluating risks, and implementing appropriate safety measures.
